The ADiTA Highway Code Training Aid
Road signs and markings
Learner drivers often do not realise the importance of the advance warning that they have been given by road signs. They may even take them for granted and get complacent, especially when undertaking local journeys. Many accidents could be prevented if drivers heeded the early warnings that the signs impart. The ADiTA Highway Code Training Aid has been developed to assist ADIs with their instruction in this vitally important area.
The ADiTA Highway Code Training Aid is designed to put a little more flesh on the bones of signs and road markings. Also, to help ADIs test their pupils’ knowledge
and to get them thinking about the possible consequences of overlooking the signs.
Within the Aid can be found a great diversity of situations. Some examples are:
The Training Aid helps to develop interactive questioning, between the instructor and the pupil and one further example shows the difference between one-way and ahead only. The signs are shown together and the Aid then leads on to demonstrate the difference, showing a one-way street situation and an ahead only road situation.
It is central to safe driving that the Highway Code signs are understood and followed and this 60-page, A5 book, from ADiTA, will go a long way towards developing learner drivers’ awareness to the warnings that the signs present.
At £18.00 this book is excellent value for money, the cost of which should be paid back several times, as each pupil will spend at least 15 to 20 minutes working through it.
The graphic drawings are professionally finished to a high standard and silk printed onto hardwearing card. The pages are encased in an ADiTA yellow polypropylene four-ring binder.
This aid has is popular with car and motorcycle instructors alike.
